To the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Mary, Newington, in the County of Surrey, and to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Leonard Shoreditch in the County of Middlesex
Whereas Complaint hath been made unto us, (two of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace in and for the County of Surrey,) by the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint Mary, Newington, in the said County of Surrey, That Louis Mayersbach Sarah his Wife and their Infant Child Sarah [sic] Aged fifteen Months also four Children by his first wife Mary Viz Charles Aged Sixteen Years and upwards Caroline Nine Years & upwards Selina Eight Years and Ann four Years neither of whom have done any Act to gain Settlement in their own right lately intruded and came to inhabit in the said Parish of Saint Mary, Newington, not having a legal Settlement there, and have actually become chargeable thereto We, the said Justices, upon due proof made thereof, as well as upon the Examination of the said Louis Mayersbach upon Oath, and other Circumstance, do adjudge the same to be true, and We do also adjudge the place of the last legal Settlement of the said Louis Mayersbach Sarah his Wife and his said five Children to be in the Parish of Saint Leonard Shoreditch in the County of Middlesex
These are therefore, in His Majesty's Name, to require you, the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Mary, Newington, or such other person as may be authorized and employed by you, to remove and convey the said Louis Mayersbach Sarah his Wife and his said five Children from the said Parish of Saint Mary, Newington, to the said Parish of Saint Leonard Shoreditch and them to deliver to the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor there, who are required to receive and provide for them according to Law.
Given under our Hands and Seals, this twenty sixth Day of October in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Thirty.
